Political Science

According to https://www.wikipedia.org ,Political Science is a social science which deals with systems of governance and the analysis of political activities,political thoughts and political behaviour.

It deals extensively with the theory and practice of politics which is commonly thought of as determining of the distribution of power and resources.

Political scientists “see themselves engaged in revealing the relationships underlying political events and conditions,and from these revelations they attempt to construct general principles about the way the world of politics work.

 

》Basic Terms

Politics: politics is an activity in which we struggle for power.

Political Science: it is a branch of science in which we study about the process of struggle for power.

Theory: theory is a set of experimentally verified principles which helps us to explain a phenomenon.It is a set of assumptions,prepositions or accepted facts that attempt to provide rational explanations of cause and effect relationship among a group of observed phenomenon.

Political Theory: it is a set of experimentally verified principles which helps us to explain a political phenomenon;it is the study of the phenomenon of a state it provides a model of explanations of political reality ad it’s understood by writer.Political theory can be conservative,critical or revolutionary.

Power:In politics,power is the ability to influence the behaviour of people.Power can be seen as evil or unjust,this sort of primitive exercise of power is historically endemic to humans,however as social beings the same concept is seen as good and as something inherited or given for exercising humanistic objectives that will help,enable and move people.

Authority:Authority derives from the Latin word auctoritas and is a concept used to indicate the right to exercise power, which can be formalized by a state and exercised by way of judges, police officers or other appointed executives of government, or the ecclesiastical or priestly appointed representatives of a higher spiritual power (God or other deities). The term authority can also be used to indicate an academicknowledge of an area (as in an authority on a subject), or to refer to an original or natural obligation (as in the authority of a father).

State:A state is a compulsory politicalorganization with a centralizedgovernment that maintains a monopolyof the legitimate use of force within a certain geographical territory.State has following four essential components:

¡)Population¡¡)Territory¡¡¡)Government¡v)Sovereignt

These are the terms and introductory part for the Study of Political Science based on syllabus of B.A Sem-1 prescribed by the university of Jammu  for 2018-19.

Please make sure that these definations are just in short and don’t rely totally upon these definations only.For the proper explantion with the origin and evolution of these terms i will upload detailed article soon.
